How to set up a payroll deduction

Deductions in payroll can be created for many uses, such as a child support or salary sacrifices.


  1. In the Options tab, click Deduction.

  2. Click New.

  3. Give the deduction a Name and Description.

  4. Enter a deduction Amount or Percentage.

  5. Choose a corresponding GL Account.

  6. Select a Deduction Type.

  7. Choose your Options for auto applying every pay run, if the deduction is part of OTE etc.

  8. Click Save.

If the deduction amount will change each time it is used, enter an amount of $1, and use the multiplier in the payrun
